Venison stew, cooked while I had the mother of all head colds. ex-husband nearly choked and even the hunting dogs gave it a wide berth. This from dogs that thought three week old road kill was just lovely!
My aunt once made a taco casserole type dish and thought when the recipe said ‘sweet milk’ it meant sweetened condensed milk (seriously), not knowing that’s just a term for regular milk. They had a couple of lab mixes and it was so gross even they wouldn’t touch it.
I made some curried meatballs once, from a bottle of that high-test sauce. It was way too hot for any of us to deal with, so I put it down for the dog (black lab). She licked it, jumped back, cautiously sniffed at it a couple of times….then, it looked like she seemed to shrug, dove right in, ate the whole works!
