In Canada we bring our own bags because they charge you for bags. Nevertheless we keep forgetting to bring them and still have a lot of plastic bags stashed away.
Paper bags if you have cats, ‘cause cats love to play in paper bags. Plastic bags if you have dogs, ’cause you’ll always need them when you take your dogs out for the potty trip.

at least you can recycle the paper, and if her daughter has so many objections, tell her to just open her arms and carry the stuff without a bag.
