Schrank is a Swiss national who has been living in the UK since ‘81. This is the 4th cartoon of his you’ve put up in the last week, 2 under a Swiss newspaper and the other for an Irish newspaper (he also does cartoons for the Independent in UK).The dude is nowhere near South or Central America, and the ’toon is referencing Cleveland, Ohio with the state of liberty (and the statue of Liberty) in the U. S. of AGuantanamo may be in Cuba, but the Latin America reference ends there. I despair of Gocomics staff.
If anything is to blame for that one its the system set in motion (or not having been set in motion) from 1997 to prevent these sort of things in the first place.

I understand where your sentiment is coming from, but I think you’re mistaken that Obama in practice shares your liberal-progressive views.
With some exceptions, he is politically to the right of Ronald Reagan.
