    It is even more fun when our geckos eat a lightning bug. You can see the flashes through their translucent skin.

    The male lightning bug is not in love with the female – he’s in love with the light bulb. See Panel 8. She’s the one that glows!

    Actually, the females do glow. They answer back with the correct species code to bring in the selected male. Some females will answer using the code for another species to lure in a male and eat him.
