It’s definitely not sad. It brings back childhood memories! I played in a bunch of trees that grow in the front of my house - not a yard, so to speak - but there are a small “grove” of trees amidst the wood chips used out front for groundcover. I’ve moved home temporarily due to medical issues, and that bunch of trees looks so small now…
As a child, though, I called these trees a forest, and spent so many pleasant hours playing alone out there! And there was never a need to mow. ;) The backyard gets mowed and used to have my swingset, but…those trees were just something special to me!

My lawn is growing so fast that I have to mow it twice a week. It rained so much this week that my lawn now resembles Alice’s.

i can remember walking to school in snow up to my waist but i was in 1st grade and a little over 3 feet tall. back then we hardly got snow days

My backyard looks like that, too, because of all the rain we’ve had. I’ve seen trout swimming up my swale to spawn this week …
