The problem with the pellet or BB gun or anti-freeze is the neighbors. There has got to be a way to get rid of the little destructive pests. And I already tried trapping them. They are too smart.

Yeah, but you need to get the predator to pee into the bottle.

We’ve got the best possible – great horned owl – and it still doesn’t help.

Feed them the cheap unsalted peanuts. Keep them well fed on peanuts and they leave the garden alone. Cheaper than toxic poisons and everyone is happy. Has worked for years in my yard. My neighbor actually started chipping in for the nuts because he was thrilled not to have his tomatoes trashed.

Seriously, buy some of the hottest peppers you can find, Boil them until they are mush. Throw them away and bottle the water, the water can be sprayed on your plants and the capsicum chemical will keep anything away.Be sure to rinse them before you eat them, of course…

Our stupid tree rats not only ate (and loved) the capsicum suet, they DON’T eat the good plants, they just bite them off at the base and scatter the leaves. .Oh, and feeding them is a BAD idea. A guy down the street does that and not only have they compleatly distroyed the lawn, when he puts stuff out there’s over 100 of the dang things in ONE YARD, for a grand total of maybe 30 minutes, then they all come and invade OUR yards…….Our best deterant (works on the crows & bunnies too) is shiny pinwheels, face them in several directions and they move in the slightest breeze. I’ve also strung up bells with good results, but the key thing to messing with any semi- wild critter is to keep changing things (like move it around).
