    Former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, a longtime Hall supporter, wrote in a blog posting Tuesday that people should wait to pass judgment on Hall and others until they have their day in court.

    “Yes cheating is awful,” Franklin wrote. “And so is conviction before a fair trial.”

    The possibility of a 45 year jail sentence is outrageous. What about the bankers who seriously undermined the American economy? Are they even likely to face trial, let alone serve jail terms? This case smells of one law for the rich and powerful and another for the less rich, especially if they happen to be African-Americans.

    Re “No Child Left Behind”: Yes, and environmental laws are to blame for companies dumping their waste in a stealthy manner. If we eliminate these laws, and no one checks whether they pollute, they can do so without feeling pressured to defraud the government!

    Wrong! America has turned their back on God for the last 50 years. maybe He has finally decided to see how we do on our own.
