“At least Bloomberg puts his own money where his mouth is”
Just to bring a little reality into this dialog, Bloomberg just got done spending a few million dollars to defeat a candidate (another democrat) because she didn’t agree with HIS gun control position. She isn’t a pro gun person, she just didn’t “tow the line” of his rigid position. Considering he’s a New York mayor sponsoring a race in Chicago, I would call that lobbying…
I personally think Bloomberg is going to shoot himself in the foot here (pun intended) with his huge advertising campaign bankrolling the effort to discredit democratic senators that don’t follow his position on gun control. He is going to develop this “Nanny State” image to the point that I think it will work against him. All he’s doing here is emulating the image of big dollar politicians trying to buy influence.
^Read “Ricochet” written by Wayne’s predecessor, or just look up their financials for more “current” numbers; $900,000+ several years ago is indeed “right at a million”.
I’m aware of that. I was more just talking about the “lobbying” issue and the spending he is willing to do to promote his agenda, whether in New York or not…

Well, La PIerre is salaried right at a million bucks a year, not a bad gig.
