Not much different from folks saying they’re buying a Barrett .50 caliber to hunt deer- instant “burger”.

Yup, prohibiting them rocket launchers will inevitably lead to confiscation of all guns. -Now that the overbearing govt. has taken nuclear weapons out of the hands of private citizens, it’s a wonder our constitution has survived.

If the “shall not be infringed” is true then why can’t people hunt with rockets? There should be no limits at all and any weapon available to the military should be legal with no restrictions, so any crazy person can launch a rocket or throw grenades.

Important fact about Americans is that they don’t “get” irony. Not all, just the ones who find this strip unfunny.

The joke is on you, Adrian. How DARE you suggest that I would rather see children murdered! Project much? Tell me…do you think that a person that would take a gun a commit a crime, or murder a person, even a 13 month old baby CARES about ANY laws out there? Why should those people make it so law abiding gun owners have to have their rights restricted? There’s people out there that abuse laws with cars and driving…should cars be banned to 2-cylinder Yugos? There’s pyromaniacs out there that commit arson…should matches be outlawed? There’s people that can’t stop themselves from drinking themselves to death…close all the bars so that the responsible people that can stop at just one beer has to suffer too! Just what IS an assault weapon anyway??? Here’s a clue…ANY device can be used in an improper way to ASSAULT people to cause harm. Start thinking with your senses and not just with your emotions…you MIGHT get somewhere with the ability to reason…

And THOSE are the people that get in trouble and pay the penalties for breaking the law. Why should a few idiots ruin it for the responsible ones?

The discussion moves from the inane to the absurd. I guess it’s to be expected considering the inept state of our political leadership…

No, the 2nd amendment does not mention hunting. What it does mention is a “well-regulated militia.” That does not mean any idiot who has enough money to buy an assault weapon has a right to have one stashed under his bed.

“’hunting’ is not why the thou shall not infringe clause is there. …"It’s not about individuals running around with guns to overthrow the elected government every time they happen to disagree with it either. Read about the Whiskey rebellion and George Washington’s reaction to it and about the legislation passed by the first Congress to regulate the militia. The whole “Second Amendment” discussion is a distortion of the real agenda of the NRA.

No one speaks for me. It’s called common sense. Something that you seem to lack.

You have lack of common sense. No LAW abiding citizen shall not be infringed. But go ahead….keep up your utter lack of intelligence from who should have guns and those that shouldn’t.

“If a politician isn’t perfectly comfortable with the idea of his average constituent, any man, woman, or responsible child, walking into a hardware store and paying cash — for any rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything — without producing ID or signing one scrap of paper, he isn’t your friend no matter what he tells you.” —noted libertarian gun nut L. Neil Smith. The cartoon is spot on.

“But.. But.. Liberals have an absolute right to use hyperbole, even when articulating public policy, don’t ya know? It must be true, I heard it on MSNBC.”Yes, the right to hyprerbole (sic), part of the “right to speech”. It’s there for liberals, conservatives and even libertarians and wing-nuts of every flavor. Did you have a point?

Tigger: For “self defense and home protection”, I have an “attack dachshund”. For hunting, and other purposes if ever needed, like “pest and predator removal”, I do own guns, including target pistols and rifles, and yes a blowgun that falls under the category of “arms” though not a “firearm”. (And I can take a monkey out of tree with it if need be!!)

What you, and many others fail to recognize is that being a responsible owner of firearms, versus being a “gun nut” who worships them, and hallucinates about potentially seeing “overkill” weapons REGULATED for civilian use, is a notable difference, and not definitive of “redneck”, though the arguments on this site, and other discussion areas of religion and gun rights, does PROVE that a minority, but significant part of the American population IS riled and ruled by their devotion to “guns and God”, irrespective the consequences of either becoming a pyschosis.
