Saw an old Jack Benny program on AntennaTV recently that included this. Benny receives a letter which reads.
Dear Sir: We are sending this note to all of our customers. Last Saturday when we swept up we found an ear on the floor. If it belongs to you, please contact us within a week. If we do not hear from anyone, we will add it to our collection.
