The clock started in 2009? Too bad we demonstrated our “Strong Stick” in Iraq earlier.

Iran would like to drop a nuclear weapon on Israel but they don’t want to commit suicide. There is no way Iran would ever bomb the U S A, that’s even quicker suicide. Quit trying to rule the world and tell every other country how to act before the U S A is completely bankrupt.

Mechanic, there are two assumptions you are making that are fallacies. First, it is not necessarily Iran that would be the one nuking us. They would make it and then sell it. Ever heard of a dirty bomb? Or a low-yield Nuke? That’s all it would take to kill hundreds of thousands or millions. Locke makes a very valid point: If you can develop a weapon of mass destruction, I’m pretty certain you’d figure out how to deliver it, too. And given our (lack of) border security, my faith is not very high in our ability to defend ourselves from a PBWMD or VBWMD.Your second fallacy is that you believe we can shoot an ICBM down, assuming N Korea wants to launch that. Because of Obama’s defunding and disarming of our missile defense shield, our ability to shoot down ICBM’s is horribly diminished. Right now, N Korea has a missile that will reach the midwest. It won’t have a huge payload, to be certain, but it doesn’t take a lot of payload to carry small nukes. And we KNOW they have nukes (3 successful tests now). Two different countries, two different warfare styles, and both of which we are ill-prepared to stop. You call it fear-mongering, I call it reality check.

The mushroom cloud fear is exactly how they got us into the Iraq war…a war that costed trillions and wasted thousands of American lives…yes they were wasted.

The USA has sold arms without limitations. Blaming Russia for non-allies being armed shows a level of hypocrisy.

China is not going to attack the USA because of how ingrained the economy is. If China’s economy crashes every model shows that the lid will blow off.

Tell me what the “real problem” is, when Pakistan managed nuclear proliferation was it a massive problem. And do you think a nuclear bomb, quarter the size of Hiroshima will do a fraction of the damage to the USA that the retaliatory strike would bring upon NK.

And trust me, having traveled and presently living in Canada, nobody disrespects the USA because it is a weak power. it is disrespected for

. Outragous gun laws. Blamed for propping up dictators. Blamed for genocide. Blamed for displacing governments. Blamed for having military bases in over 100 countries, believe it or not other countries take it as an offense to sovereignty that the american forces refuse to leave

If you think that any country fears us because of what we did in Iraq then you are truly delusional. The only reason that we are feared anywhere in the world (as if being feared instead of loved and respected is a good thing?) is because we have the ability to literally wipe out all humanity on this pretty planet some ten times over!!

Believe it or not. Most of the Western world views gun laws as a good thing.

. most of the countries with dictators were either overthrown, (focus on central america, most recent is arab spring.). In one case retracted ( Iraq)

Unfortunately Obama is not left wing, at least from the military perspective. He has continued the approach of previous governments

. This is taking it from a perspective of Iraq, considering between 2003-2008 it lost 10% of its population.

If you consider for example Grenada, Nicaragua. Most of central america in 80’s there were a large amount of governments that the US overthrew.

    Believe it or not http://www.thelocal.de/national/20120113-40099.html#.UT4d09bvtqw

as much as you hear about how German’s were fearful, the lack of government response as well as the welcoming reaction from the public online may hint that you saw a cherry picked example. Never mind the fact that many other countries were doing it in far greater numbers.

Finally a point i neglected to mention is that the USA still calls itself a Christian nation. This is an odd activity from the view point of most of the western world, as well as the far east.

Common folks, They don’t have to launch anything. Put it a shipping container, mark it as free trade so no inspections. Place it in Container port. Let it sit. For all we know this may have already been done. Just waiting for the command to set them off. Iran is more dangerous as they would be willing to GIVE them to some jihadist to run amuck with. N. Korea would sell to anybody. They sell the Sunbeam anti-ship rocket to Iran. Its not the nuke that scares me anymore. Try VX, Sarin, Mustard, chemical weapons and the biological weapons.Be really scared of those. Smaller, cheaper, and far more dangerous.Russia is having a hard time selling arms. They made all those new AK-74 and AN-94 they cant find buyers. They out sold themselves with the AK-47. Why buy new when you can use surplus? When I was in the service in the 70s’ we got our Russian equipment from the Israelis. It was all the stuff they captured from the Egyptians in the Sinai conflict. And not to worry. China will sit on N. Korea. Do you think they want them destroying Chinese property? Think about it.Nukes are just really big bombs. Not much else. Some radiation but look at Hiroshima, Nagasaki they made it. Sure there were issues and may still be some but nowadays the Nukes are just one big boom (If they go off. It is a real trick to make it work efficiently). Like I said VX only takes a drop the size of the eye on the Lincoln penny to kill everyone in 8 by 10 room.

5th year of a moribund “foreign policy” on Iran in this Obamaadministration, which pampers Islamic radicals in the Mideast.-65 years of Demonstrated uselessness in trying “diplomacy” by Israel with all the surrounding Arab Islamic states, doesn’t register in the minds and thoughts of US federal careerists in the DOS or the “chosen” in Obama’s cabinet.-Fact: dedicated radicals may use Arafat’s Islamic MO of signing an occasional “treaty” to gain ground in the Long War to dominate and restore the lost caliphate….but the record is not acceptable on Islamics ever doing what they promise to do in any treaty. Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood rulers are busy ending the “peace treaty” with Israel that cost the USA $2 Billion each year that Egypt kept the peace.-Iran’s Islamic cleric rulers are willing to lose Muslims if they expect to gain control of Israel or America…by any means possible, including Nukes. They worship death by martydom.

Fear generates hatred, and hatred generates extremist terrorists. And this is by the tens of millions in the case of a religion such as the Islamic Muslim religion that has about 1.5 billion adherents throughout the world. I must admit that I do not know the answer to this very complicated question (and neither do you or President Obama or former President GW Bush), but I do know that history shows that fear is definitely NOT the answer. However, perhaps a reasonable respect generated by a military that is indeed a very formidable one, coupled with a mutual respect on our own part (such as both President Obama and Hillery Clinton have shown) might just be a part of the answer. Hopefully, at any rate…..

And we have experts within this country on nuclear signatures that would easily be able to show that such a bomb originated with either Iran or NK. And then either of those countries responsible would be in great danger of becoming nuclear slag parking lots.

And as a so called libtard (why must you ultra conservatives always make up derogatory names for those that even mildly oppose your extrema viewpoints?) I do not believe that even the ultra conservatives on here suggest that ANY other country is going to sanely attack the US, or even supply bombs to those that would do so, as the danger (as I pointed out earlier in my post) to the supplying country would be far too great to do so.

This does not even constitute MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) as it did with the USSR during the Cold War, as there is no other country in the world (with the possible exception of Russia itself) that has the capability of even coming close to destroying the USA, without being obliterated by the return nuclear fire of this country. And that is the simple truth that even fanatics know, or we would have been so attacked a long time ago!!

Good Grief!! NOBODY is out to seize any law abiding citizens lawful weapons. Of course, if you happen to have a pocket nuke or two, then it is just possible that Homeland Security might take an interest in your activities!!

Thank Bush for replacing Iran’s nemesis with a friendly regime.Iran wants leverage & prestige to use against not just israel, but also Pakistan & the Saudis. A nuke on U.S. soil would be a death sentence for Iran as a nation. They aren’t stupid. If you want to talk about a regime that might choose suicide over losing power, look at North Korea. Which was totally ignored by Bush as well.
