It’s really shouldn’t snow in spring. But it does anyway, and here I am!

Well maybe Nate’ll be doing some righteous tubing in a couple hours, and it’ll be all right back to biz-as-usual…..or if it’s slushy he can nail Ellen a good one square in the back of her head….again!! Snickers! SNICKERS!!!

Before school. You can tell he doesn’t want it on a Friday or Saturday. He wants it to pile up on Sunday so school closes.

You should have heard the involuntary noise I made when I looked out this morning to white stuff on the ground. Maybe you shouldn’t have heard it. It’s freaking spring. I want WARM spring breezes, not the icy stuff we’re getting.

david_42: Climate change! In the ’70s, it thundered in Vancouver and the mass media was all over, reassuring people that Ioco had not blown up or something. “It is really quite common in the interior” was the line that had us on the floor. Yet in one of the promo interviews for the Vancouver Olympics, I saw lightning in the far background. Sic transit gloria mundi. [Ioco: Imperial Oil Company refinery in its own suburb.]

There used to be a TV weatherman with a less-than-deserved reputation for accuracy. Back in the day we got something like two feet of snow. But every time he went on the air to revise his forecast, he was always behind the curve. By the time he was calling for 12-16 inches of snow, we already had 20-24 inches. Reminds me of the Buffalo radio voice who said during a monster winter storm that the forecast called for a low temperature of 28 degrees and a 20 percent chance of snow. “It’s 20 degrees right now,” he said, “and it’s been 20-percenting all afternoon.”
