Or maybe people just realise what the consequenses could be by not using drones. Just because you agree with them doesn´t mean you can´t have a general mindset to be against them.

It would be cynical if not for the demonstrated motivation of Republicans from Obama’s first days in office.

“liberal democrats” are just “moderate republicans” in drag.

Very interesting Rall, and a good point. By the way, check the righteous righteous anger from right-wingers this and last week over the drones issue, it was all over Capitol Hill – made me think McCain was allied with Jane Fonda! :)

The guy in the cartoon is just getting read for the next “spontaneous” demonstration. Not unlike the so called “occupy” movement.

Well, I got my political education protesting against a democrat — Lyndon Johnson. But then we got Nixon, who was worse. What I see is a split among liberals — some justify the drones, some don’t. There are actually reasonable arguments on either side. Me, I’m not a liberal, I’m a leftie, so I think the problem is deeper — it’s not the drones themselves that are the problem, the problem is the whole foreign policy that makes them necessary.

One, of a few, of Ted’s cartoons that is not worthy of being used in the out house.Keeper, and all the better because it acknowledges the hypocrisy of the left/progressives.

I thought it was congress that decided to keep Gitmo open by making the only option simply releasing everyone being held there.

I’m not sure there are that many truly liberal Democrats. I’m not opposed to the idea of a limited drone program with independent oversight. That’s not what we have.Obama made an attempt to shut down Gitmo & was blocked by NIMBYs. I think we should put the Gitmo prisoners on trial. Civil trial for U.S. Citizens, standard military trial for foreign nationals. No secret tribunals. Put them in max security prisons here if they’re found guilty, send them home if they aren’t. Gitmo is safer than home for most of them now.

The claim at the time was that open trials would reveal secrets that would put us in danger. Were there any trials before Obama or did he start the secret tribunals?

“Ted Rall seems to have an obsession with drones! Are they phallic or what?”Sounds like someone has a case of drone envy.
