It was a snowstorm! I lived in Northern Vermont in the mid 70’s and we had regular snowstorms, ice storms, freezing rain, arctic freezing winds, you name it. We lost power, couldn’t drive to town etc, etc. Most had fireplaces, generators and stocked up on food and other such necessities as a matter of course. Never made the news when we had 24" of snow. We got on a snowmobile and rode to town if it was necessary.
Everything is catastrophic or a crises now. It’s winter. There will be heavy snow, winds, freezing rain, etc through much of the country. The south and Midwest will get tornadoes. It’s part of nature, not some modern day climate aberration. The media is what is an aberration to the process now…
We could have the same robust infrastructure that modern countries have, but it would take government spending. There’s no short-term profit in it, so private utility companies won’t spend money on it. It’s cheaper to repair it by the end of next week than make all transmission lines weather-resistent.
I hope people will fix this warming problem because I like polar bears. Each year have been hotter than the year before for 4-5 years now. We have a bad drouth here, with water tables down about 60 feet. not long until water will be more expensive that oil.

Glaciers have been melting since the beginning of time? When was that, 5500 BC?
