I worked when my kids were younger. I sure enjoyed the peaceful time at the office. Although now I love the time with my kids. :-)

My X never helped with ANYTHING around the house, and we were married in April of ‘59 and had all 4 by July of ’64. My older kids helped out some (because I needed it). They are all still very close, even tho’ we are scattered all over the country and the kids still help me now that I’m retired (especially my 2nd son).

I don’t know, I’ve seen terrible parents say they need a day off and good parents deserve a day off too.

I feel no sympathy. She didn’t find those kids under a cabbage leaf after all, and they weren’t her first kids either so she had to know what to expect.

No matter when our kids were young, we worry if the daycare is up to code. My grandson’s nursery school is expensive and they are always cutting corners, that is normal. No difference from the 80s, 60s, or now.

I loved those days and am very glad I didn’t drop/dump them off on anyone else to raise them. Yeah, needed time off…and had it once a month plus Sundays when we were all in church and refilling our lamps. Yeah, sometimes that wasn’t enough but I still rather have it that way than not being with them every day. BTW SAHMs DO work and the pay is grander than the $$$ any job could give. And SAHMing IS a career. And a lot harder than not being with your kids.

I gave up makeup when my kids were very little, I’m just rediscovering it now. I also worked and attended school while they were small, she has it made!
