Good Morning all!

good morning and happy sunday locos. Another holiday filled day.

We can start the day with a parade celebrating Estonian Independence Day.

We’ll follow that with the Jewish festive holiday of Purim. Shika already explained why we’re celebrating this. I vaguely remember the story, but I do remember it’s a big party day. Once again celebrating the fact that the Jewish people didn’t get destroyed – thanks to Queen Esther intervening. The other thing that always sticks out in my mind, is there are two main guys. Esther’s relative (the good guy) and the man that wants to destroy all the Jewish people in the area (the bad guy). One of the ways to celebrate is to get so drunk you can’t remember which guy is to be blessed and which one is to be cursed.

And if you can remember, a couple of weeks ago we started celebrating the Chinese New Year. With all the partying we did, we lost track of which day we were on. Today is the last day of celebration – day 15. And we’ll end the day (those who are still standing) with the Lantern festival (also known as the Spring festival and on the first full moon of the year).

Last day of Chinese New Year, huh? What do we do to celebrate?

I will be celebrating at a friend’s house. He is having an Oscar party and dinner. I am making a couple loaves of bread and we will bring a couple bottles of vino. I am bracing myself for endless commercials. Should be some good though.

It is my first day off from school and work in two weeks. It has been a very unproductive day ha ha.

I see I have missed a lot of partying and drinking! Darn! And I’ll miss it tonight too. Maybe after I do the seminar tomorrow I can celebrate.
