They have a lot of golf courses within city limits where I live. Most people are careful, but the occasional broken window does happen and it’s up to the owner to prove it came someone on the gold range. Of course, there is usually a golf ball (or golf club) so it’s not too hard to prove it.

When I moved to Orange County NY in ‘96 we got there a month before the Cicadas arrived. Their noise was so loud a friend of mine thought there was something wrong with his truck and took it to a repair shop hoping to find out what the noise was.

Sup “A” team, hope you all had a good weekend

In July and August (when the temps reached 120°F) our farm was plagued–as in Biblical proportion– with those noisy pests. The noise–my ears still ring. They would blanket the crop fields. Our roosters proved to be great for pest control–they love snacking on the pesky things.

    P.S.

My brothers and I cut a putting hole in the corrall. We dug in some manure–not sand–traps just for fun. I only beat them once, and my bros said it was because the vibration of the cicada screeching was so loud that it miraculously tipped my Titleist into the cup.

It would be like asking why they don’t call a parkway a driveway and a driveway a parkway. They are, for unknown reasons, called the exact opposite of what we actually do on them - including the freeway which I am more often than not, parked on for 15 minutes every night.

here, some of the freeways are toll roads for which you have to pay.
