    Tfhe SF author William Tenn wrote a short story years ago called “Time in Advance.” The premise was that a person could serve hard time in a prison colony (where people were needed) and later commit the crime with impunity for which he had done the time. The story concerned the first man to successfully serve ‘time in advance’ for murder…
