And threaten to stop using their power. That gets them every time, once they quit laughing, that is.

I wonder if the CFD sent Ma a bill. Some places do that for false alarms.I notice that they are calling the power company on a land line. It has its own power and still works. That’s one of the reasons I don’t use the cable company’s bundled telephone service. How am I going to call them when the cable service is down? Like ‘em or not, my telephone service has been down twice in 49 years, both times during hurricanes. I can’t quite say the same thing about my cable service.

If morons do it in circles, all of them are wound up so tightly they’re positively kinky.

Call them a 6th time, refuse to hold… hang up, call again….helps improve their efficiency. They have nothing better to do than talk to Joy…. after all, she’s a customer.

If she keeps dragging that phone cord through the candle flame, or the cord knocks it over, she’ll set the house on fire.

Then they’ll get lots of light from the blaze.

Some actually go by words. But there is an art to it. You have to be frustrated enough to swear but not so bad that you’re screaming and unintelligible.

@SusanSunshineI agree, calling multiple times to report the same problem should really speed things up. Just because the person on the phone is not the one doing the repair has nothing to do with it. I like to press elevator buttons several times to speed it up. Process called El-excelleration.

I only call if it is not obviously only my house (if area wide, there is usually a message at the beginning of call), then I just get out battery candles and settle down. If it is Cable, I will call them (and as I’ve already tryed all the normal resets, press 0 or shout “agent” until I get a live person. Once last month, they had most of my favorite channels showing as “not currently available” which really made me angry since they just did a simple rest at their end (should not have been that way)..I agree with Mikie, I use my land line for local calls (and Skype for long distance- can also be used voice only if you are not presentable for that person).

My wife used to work for the local electric company. Whenever the power goes out, we encourage the neighbors to call and report it. More calls from customers = higher priority. Of course, multiple calls from the same customer is the same as one call.

The Penny’s always think that they are the most important people in the universe, so if Joy calls, the power company will jump thru hoops to get them back on line. Jerry is looking scruffiier than usual ( I ju;st said that so I can use some gingerbread Brain Bleach, I admit it I’m addicted)!
