Figures lie and liars figure, then there’s statistics. Burl could amuse himself for hours with a balloon and besides, it’s a good way to store excess air.
My parents often gave the “free gifts” as presents; (at least they also gave real gifts, which I’m sure the Pennys don’t). And they got free calculators from their bank, and other stuff (more than a balloon).
