So even if Jeeps were to be built in China for the Chinese vehicle market (a not unreasonable position to take), Jeeps built for the largest vehicle market in the world (the USA) would have to continue to be built right here in the USA.
What candidate Mitt Romney and his campaign is doing is not entirely a lie, but is certainly a deception at any rate!!
Do you really believe that a 51% shareholder in Bain Capital, which is moving a factory from Illinois to China as we sit here this morning, will fight to bring jobs back from China? No Way Baby!
The Jeep plant closed in China in 2007 was moved there by American Motors (Who was the head of AMC?) before Chrysler bought Jeep. AMC also moved US production of Jeep from the US to Canada, Jeep has factories in other countries including Austria, Egypt and Venezuela and possibly other countries I don’t know about. In every European country I have visited, I have seen Jeep agencies. They make right hand drive models as well as left and are popular in places like the UK, Japan and Australia.
see todays doonesbury vid clip. interviews of die-hard romnesiacs…really! they have no idea what he’s going to do (this got the most mumbles and blank stares), what his platform is, or why he’s running (remember W? “the best president we ever had!”). these are the same type folks that paint themselves purple or wear cheese on their heads.
That does not necessarily mean that Jeep is going to be closing down plants in the US, as the vehicles made in China would only be made for sale in China.
Besides, just how many Jeeps would that be? Price a typical Jeep lately? Our own Middle Class can barely afford them, let alone the relatively small and poor middle class of China!!
So, by far the larger amount of Jeep vehicles to be made will continue to be made in the USA for sale within the USA (and quite possibly Europe as well)!
The following is not exact wordage, but the message is accurate.“It’s only a lie if you refuse to believe it.”“You gonna believe me or your lyin’ eyes?“This coal plant is toxic.”“I believe in clean coal production.”“I believe in gun controls, but these military grade guns are unnecessary.”“This affordable healhcare program could be a model for the nation.”“The first thing I will do in the oval office is abolish Obamacare.”Shall I continue?Obama has not done what he promised, but the fact is, we are better off than we were 4 years ago. Under “arguable” circumstances, we could have been much better off.. Obama says we know him. Compared to Mitt Romney, we know Obama like the floor plan of our homes. We may not like some or even most of it, but with Obama we know what we’re getting. If the legislature will work together with honor and sincere goodwill, Obama would be very cooperative with Republicans if there was actual give and take.I believe this so much, I’m willing to bet the next 4 years on it.I hope you will too.Respectfully,C.
INcreasing U.S. jobs by at least 1,100, just for Jeep production, that’s what the article, and the CEO actually said. BTW, before they went bankrupt, remember, it was AMC who bought out Willys, and built Jeep, then sold to Chrysler. Mitt has only one truth to tell: he lies.

Mitt still spreads the lie even after Chrysler comes out and calls him on it.

Mitt will bring those jobs back to the US. Just watch! Jeep will be afraid to manufacture Jeeps in China. **

Gresch, your loyalty to Romney is touching, but totally misguided. Don’t waste your breath trying to justfy his lies, he’s not worth it.

Yes, there are stupid people who don’t question a word Romney says, because their own Obama hatred is so virulent and over the top.
