I saw this cartoon. In the end, Bluto gets chased off and Popeye gets disgusted with Olilve’s fickleness. The cartoon ends with Olive saying…“Well, there goes the Navy. But there’s still the Marines!”yep..we need a third option too.C.

Okay, if I were a conservative I’d say that Obama is really Wimpy — “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today”. But I’m not, so I won’t.

We know who the good guy is. And a vote for Brutus is just that.

But, while your posts are usually short, such as a teenager might make. You also make more posts here than just about anybody, so your very comment this time could just as easily apply to yourself!!

Sometimes I have to go back and re-edit[delete & repost] my hot-link because I had a space after the opening bracket(less-than sign) and before ‘a href’ and it would fail. Difficult to spot if it is in the middle of a paragraph. Btw, if you want to carriage return, type br in between less-than & greater-than signs, twice to skip a line or denote new paragraph. hr in between less-than & greater-than signs creates a dividing line across the post

Like this above, or belowThe syntax for a hot link is:Descriptive titleAlso note that the url address is in between double-quotes and has a closing greater-than sign/angle-bracket after it. The text thereafter is just descriptive; and to close it all off: the /a in between the opening & closing less-than & greater-than signs/angle-brackets.

Has anyone here ever actually watched a Popeye cartoon? The usual Popeye/Olive/Bluto plot formula was as follows: Popeye shows up at Olive’s house and invites her on a date. Bluto overhears, gets jealous, and either tries to steal Olive away from Popeye or outright bullies her away from him; usually after beating Popeye to a mangled pulp. Popeye then eats the spinach that he conveniently carries, rallies his strength (accompanied by a bit of Body Horror), beats the tar out of Bluto, and then sings his pean to spinach with Olive looking adoringly at him.

Granted there were variations in the formula; but, generally, Bluto came off as a petty, violent, jealous, cheating, bullying sociopath and, by the end of the cartoon, Popeye usually wasn’t much better. Neither one is someone I’d choose as a role model, let alone someone I’d elect to office. (Actually, I’ve NEVER been able to figure out what she saw in either of them. I think that, had she married Bluto, she would’ve become yet another Domestic Violence victim; and, had she married Popeye, she would probably have been neglected in favor of his chosen profession and it would have ended in divorce or depression.)

Go to the Old Wolf’s The Unofficial Pibgorn Tribute Site and scroll down to the Embedded Links near the bottom.

Copy his formula, paste into your comment box and substitute the desired url and title where appropriate and Robert should be your maternal or paternal unit’s sib.

Maybe she’ll go for Whimpy who will gladly give her a hamburger if she votes for him on Tuesday.
