At the time they were expensive about 200 bucks.I had caught him for speeding. You see radar detectors only work if a radar signal is going out. We use a standby mode. Flick the switch and send out the beam. It travels speed of light so it is out and back before you can react to the beeping of the detector.This radar brand guaranteed to keep you from getting a ticket. I started to do the citation when she got out yelling at him for blowing all that money on that piece of junk. She grabbed it off the dash and threw it against a rock wall in the road cut. Shattering it into pieces. She stomped and fussed got back in the car still fussing.In the mean time I was still standing there with her husband the driver. He had the most pitiful look on his face. I said “Tell you what. For the hell you are going to catch from her. I am just going to warn you this time. Maybe you won’t get too much of a chewing out.”He thanked me got back in the car and drove off. She was right at his ear and I could hear her yelling as they drove off.

Poor Herman – he can’t win. She probably brow-beat him to let her drive today!

I got a ticket one time when my husband was directing me and said ‘make a u-turn here’. Wrong place for that.
