GRITSnight for hockey. Tonight was the first game back at the Memorial Coliseum where the partial renovation included a larger ice surface with all new boards, glass & ice making machinery. And we won 6-0 over the US Division 1st place team! Well, looks like we have once again run out of weekend. That means it’s time for Akenta to get us back in the groove and tell us what day we have on tap.
Well, all but hubby is off today and tmr. He’s essential personnel so he has to go to work. Just about everything else business wise is closed around here. And on top of that, I get a call this am from my cousin. My last remaining Aunt passed away, the last of my mom’s sisters. Well, now I know why Sandy is heading this way. Like my cousin said, “Mom’s going out with a bang.” Yep, that would be my Aunt Mary! Always the most outspoken of the sisters and their brother!
Number Six HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU SLEEP THROUGH A HURRICANE?
My hubby still thinks they are hyping this, at least this am before he went to work. When he comes home and finds the porch roof starting to go, I think he’ll change his mind. He probably already has actually because of the wind force he’s driving home in!
@ Six. You might want to delete your first post. When I clicked on that url, I got something about “I am 55 but look 29”. Are you trying to tell us something? lol
That weatherman was rather self-satisfied with his forecast. “A bit of rain”. Ha!!
Dry, stay safe. Even up here, we are preparing for power outages. I cancelled my client for tonight, as I didn’t want to be stuck downtown with no way to get home. The subway isn’t the greatest anyways.
Something AMAZING just happened! Our local paper, like most, are getting skimpy, sadly. I keep it up out of loyalty for all these MANY years! But our carrier, who usually throws the paper on the porch in the early am, brought it to us now, in person. They published early and she is out in this SHI! doing her job. When my bill comes due, that girl is getting a good tip!
Dry, I’ve heard that the postman always delivers the mail, but this is the first I’ve heard of a paper carrier hand delivering a paper the day before. She deserves a nice big tip.
cleo thanks for including me. So far, so good, but i can’t believe the howling of that wind outside. I haven’t heard anything like it.I have two appointments tomorrow. Let’s hope that the worst is over by then.

I am sorry about your Aunt, Dry. Will you be able to attend the service for her?

Shika I don’t know I rather doubt it, but my cousin is okay with that. She realizes what is happening here with the weather and all. We’ll see.

A local woman was just killed here by a falling Staples sign. And a huge tree crushed a car not far from here.
Take good care and STAY INDOORS!
My lights just flickered.
JFri check on Dry too. Thanks for the supplies.
