There is a similar scene in a Far Side cartoon of long ago. The bump in the snake is not speaking, but a parrot is. The parrot says “Hello, my name is Joey. Aaaaaa! Get it off me! Get it off me! Hello, my name is Joey.”.
You will find out if you pick up a snake. They are easy to catch, but that’s how they show their displeasure.

Hey Broomie, why didn’t you get a black cat like all the other green witches, not a big old anaconda.
Broomie was a substantial snack so it may be weeks for things to come to pass.
