Nooooooooo, I’d say this is more in the mode of Bob Thaves than Pastis.

I’d say more Pastis than Thaves. Pastis has the elaborate multi-panel setups and then the forced but clever pun.

While Thaves mastered a single panel and what I’ve named “the call & response” pun.
