Hmmm, I wondering if I know what this is about.
This is very local but I have some doubts since it is quite clear the shopping bag next to the rubbish bin in the cartoon is from Billa supermarkets…(afterall this is in ViewsBusiness but that might also mean nothing :p )
Anyway, local authorities in a small town called Eberau (about 1000 ppl) in the province of Burgenland in Austria has refused permission for the construction of a new asylum seekers’ support & care centre because they claim the government did not inform them at all of their plans for it.
A referendum might be in the works (although this isn’t quite like Switzerland’s referenda)
The government might use legal action against the town.
Which might explain the cartoon, the timing of the announcement for the centre and time of year.
Or I’m completely wrong and this is a generic cartoon on the “there is no room in the local inn” theme showing up hypocrisy regarding policies & attitudes towards refugees in general.
