Well, MItt has two very expensive degrees at Harvard, but can’t do simple mathematics, just like Ryan, so guess it’s been long ago that education went downhill? Remember, “W” also had an MBA, wasted on a legacy.

And then you expect grads to go into teaching and put up with that political B.S…. good luck.

A degree is worth it, but just make sure you are picking the school with the best cost/benefit ratio. In many cases this would be an in-state public university. If the parents are just gonna pay the whole thing, then go with the one with the hottest chicks.

Murphy, you haven’t priced instate public Universities lately, have you? The insane practice of cutting taxes while vastly expanding prison populations and other state expenses has left public universities essentially unfunded by the states. We got our education, nicely funded by the people who were working at the time. But now — screw the next generation, we want our tax cuts!

Even with the degree, you also need “experience”. McDonalds and the armed forces are the only places not requiring experience.

OOOh, I get so annoyed when cell phones go off in lecture. I try not to yell and scream, because I find that does no good, so I just stop talking and stare until the disturbance ends. But I haven’t had the nerve to ban laptops. Do you?

Sending you to any class is a waste of money. Know-it-alls like yourself refuse to learn.

Why attend an expensive, pointlessly ornate university when you can just watch Fox News for free?.Derp.

Always missing in discussions about “higher education” these days is the difference between true Higher Education and Technical Schools. There’s a huge difference between a Tech School and a University, or at least, there should be. True higher education has more to do with seeking knowledge about things like philosophy, history, science literature and arts, and is based in the students desire to understand the universe in which he/she resides, the meaning of life even. The modern “university” is just teaching people how to make money, get your MBA and go out and screw the world. And it produces people like IMa and Onguard and Howgozit, etc. Worthless functionaries with no sense of culture or truth. That’s the true sadness about modern “education”.

Not sure why have we looked at the affect and not cause of higher cost of college. Could it be higher paid professors or higher paid staff at the schools how about sprots at one time they might of paid for themselves but now you have to have as many women scholarships as men but no one goes to the women’s games or track and field
