It’s the Republican nightmare of how they think the voters see the Democrats.

When you wrap yourself in the flag, you insulate yourself from democracy.

Now I’m not the brightest Lego™ in the stack, but I have no idea what Benson is trying to say here.

The cartoon is pointing out that the Democrats are now the party of a strong America, and the Republicans are the party of running around having no idea what to do and whining that America can no longer accomplish great things. Democrats are for rebuilding America, while Republicans are for cutting education, cutting research, cutting jobs, cutting foreign influence, and championing ignorance and anti-science even in the face of stiff foreign competition. Because nothing matters except tax cuts, no cause is great enough to trump tax cuts, no benefit for America is more important than tax cuts. It’s a pretty accurate cartoon.

No need to capture the flag, just had to pick up it after the cons dropped it.

Part of the problem is that when you are the party of global corporations it’s easy to forget that America consists of more than playing up guns/God/and GoodOl’Boys every two years. The GOP has gone too far to the right and will find out that that doesn’t play as well as they expect especially when the usual straw men like “Dems weak on defense” just don’t have legs.

I’ll consider making a serious comment on this toon when I can stop laughing!

I can’t name a single politician in power in Washington right now that is going to do anything else but more of the same…pillage the system and jockey for more power until there are no more spoils to take.

A lot of Americans are being sold a bag of goods but refuse to do anything about it. They joke that “every time their lips move a politician lies” yet they fall for the lies every single time and elect them again.

So, do you think they’re telling the truth? In that case you can at least try to peddle the excuse that you were deceived (despite the fact that this is the age of information and facts aren’t that hard to find). Or do you know they’re lying and vote for them anyway because they have a D or an R after their name, respectively.

Have things really gotten so bad that we’re either fooled or stupid?
