The TSA is incompetent, inefficient, and useless. It isn’t keeping us safer, it’s been doing “show pieces” that make people think we are being careful while ignoring the most important issues. Wasn’t until a year or so ago that most airports had scanners that could actually “see” plastic explosive in a shoe – before that TSA staff did no better than chance. All those shoes removed – why? Politics?
church- “homeland security” added 33 agencies/ directors. It’s been possible for a long time to go online and check TSA checking requirements before you fly, and deduce easily their “programming”. The best thing they need to do is have qualified people “profiling” behaviors unobserved, and ignore having people take their shoes off and be harassed by robotic little clowns with dictator fetishes. That said, the majority of airports I’ve passed through have been very good, even though their “procedural guidelines” suck, as they were put together by morons- several years ago.
GI JOE Lieberman “comes through again” as investigative Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee to prevent this type of thing from happening with tough questions.
Then again, there’s just so much stupidity you can think of to ask any questions like this, before it happens!
