Conservative stalwart Joseph Farah of WND, “Americans are lazy, fat, immoral, and stupid.”
And they wonder why fewer and fewer people are voting for them….

Really now Doc. Are you saying a “birther,” a Rush Limbaugh compatriot is a credible spokesman on the American people? I have to assume that you include your more liberal compatriots in that category since you are quoting a very broad, unspecified group?
I think we somewhat deserve the fat and lazy remarks as statistics bear out Americans sedentary lifestyles, both physical and intellectual. Immoral and stupid? Maybe if we judge immoral on his religious definition, but in general I don’t see it. Immoral is a word like asking about costs, it has many definitions to many different people.
Stupid? I guess it depends on which definition you use. Webster gives us a few definitions, a couple that might apply (IMO).

I guess I could go with #‘s 1B and 3. I don’t know why I bothered going through this exercise, I guess it’s a slow day on the GC pages…

“O.C.”, Romney just invested in the company that disposed of the results.
Heck, that’s not outreach, it’s what they do to their own who don’g follow the script. Bobby Jindal may “disappear” any day now behind that door.

Hello OrthodoxCatholic,
I understand the religious and personal convictions causing you to look at the cartoon in the light for which you’ve commented.
However, there is a great deal of evidence supporting that all of the instruments and devices in the ‘welcome room’ were popular with Tomás de Torquemada’s Spanish Inquisition in his efforts to ‘convert’ Jews, Muslims, and “heretic protestants”. A Jesuit priest and confessor to Queen Isabella, his sadistic form of Catholicism added greatly to the divisions between Christian protestants, Muslims, and Jews. It is not hard to see how so many people can look at such histories and wonder what kind of God allows such things. It is even easier when such people read the present day words which have no place coming from a ‘Christian’ as told in the Beatitudes.
You look at the picture and see a modern day abortion clinic. I look at the picture and I see what people in power have done to those with no power in the name of a loving God whose son told us “bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
With your very nickname, you represent millions of Catholics. I have concerns your words do not present the positive message Christ gave to his church, and in failing, hardens hearts and creates a greater intolerance to believers of all faiths.
I would like to thank the many atheists and agnostics who have resisted attacking my own comments on this topic over the last weeks. It shows an example of patient humanity, if not ‘charity’.
Respectfully,
C.

thank you for your intelligent reply. Be assured not all Catholics sully the faith and actually live by the words of Jesus of loving one another.

Legal abortion clinics are clean hospital rooms.
The cartoon depicts the immoral torture rooms that the Bush admin set up to water board people and worse overseas.

I read the text of that law and the changes she made. I think she was trying to keep a rapist from coercing his victim into having a fetus aborted in the event that there is no other DNA evidence but was incapable of wording it. If that is not the case she should not be a lawyer or a state legislator. Roe v Wade is firmly established as the law of the land and, in my mind, displayed gross incompetence when she wrote that bill.
