It doesn’t matter, Gov. Romney is going to wipe the floor with the President in the first debate. He will win the election within 90 minutes. And then he will cure cancer…

Okay, above as sarcasm, if you didn’t realize it. I just wanted to set a counter-point to the “lowering of expectations” game (played by BOTH campaigns, I admit). I can only hope that the President has enough time and sleep to be at his top-game. And I hope that Gov. Romney is fit as well. I want to see a REAL debate, not some acerbic mud-slinging-contest! I live in Germany, but I will set my alarm-clock and watch it life, popcorn and cola at my side…

Do you old timers remember when Sam Donaldson said that for republicans, as long as Ronald Reagan didn’t drool during his debate he’d be considered the winner?

Romney is going to wipe the floor with the President in a debate?

If there’s anything in the past the Republicans can remember saying about the President “He speaks well” should be at the top of list.

Moderator: Mr Romney, could you please identify a job creator?
    -

Willard: Well, you can’t see them, but they’re really there, just like leprechauns. And if you believe in them and capture one, you’ll get his treasured pot o’ jobs, and unemployment will be cured in your state!

Amen. I’d like to see/hear an actual presentation of issues and ideas, so they can compete and the public can measure for themselves. All the name-calling and bickering is tiring (I get enough of that in these forums).

Coincedentally, I read your mention of the “lowering of expectations” immediately after listening to a report of the same on the radio. What timing…

Why do they call it a debate when it is full of pre-scripted soft ball questions with little follow up?
