Re: Yesterdays posts.I don’t think that i was explaining it very wellSo…I have a client who’s wife goes to a family reunion every year at this time and leaves his husband home. She sets it up so people from her church and other friends come by and cook dinner for him in the evening and the company i work for takes care of him in the day.Its worked for him and her for years. This year she decides to get him some tickets for a concert at the Indian Casino in Lincoln City. Before buying the tickets she asks if they have transportation, wheelchair accessible transportation. They say yes and she buys the tickets.Later, she starts making arrangements for the trip. The casino informs her that they stop at the city limits. My client lives five miles south of that.…yea…The county has a bus that run Hwy. 101, but it stops running before the concert is over…Same for the door-to-door that the county has for disabled people…The local med-transit is no help. They also stop running before the concert is over…No taxi service in the area has a wheelchair accessible van…No car rental has a wheelchair accessible van…The equipment rental doesn’t have a van or truck with a lift or ramp…I called all of the car dealerships to see if they had something that i could rent or borrow. Nothing there. The closest places that i could find that had a wheelchair van for rent was Portland and Eugene. The one in Portland wants $125.00 a day. 100 miles only before we start paying milage, and they don’t insure. I didn’t even try Eugene. So…I intend to go to GoFundMe and see if i can beg enough money to by a wheelchair accessible van. Im not going to try to start a business with it. I doubt that i could make enough money to make a living off of it, but I would be able to help the clients of the company that i work for. And i might even be wrong there. Time will tell there.…But, first, i need to find out how to get my client to the concert and back.
