I saw an advertisement a year or so ago for an opera by Engelbert Humperdinck. I did a double-take and then found out there was a German composer by the same name. The 70s crooner’s real name is Arnold Dorsey. I can see the need to change that to a stage name, but why Engelbert Humperdinck?
