Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

I don’t think it was Asay’s intent, but he was revealed what’s becoming routine for media … no longer reporting facts, or digging into what’s behind the facts, instead, simply doing a lazy job of commenting on some easy, irrelevant hot topic kept in the news only by virtue of the media citing it over and over again.
the echo chamber grows ever longer and ever more meaningless
DrCanuck said, 5 months ago
Agreed. I’m starting to believe that Asay is a closet liberal who takes stupid conservative talking points and endlessly regurgitates them to the point that folks start to see how stupid they really are.

If you picture the reporters are from Fox News then the joke works!
That teleprompter bit “example” is so tired and dated!

The media’s job is to make Obama look good.

I do not know which is funnier, the strip or the comments. One point is those in favor of our beloved Prez Bo is this stupid notion of “saved” jobs nope that would be just a sound board of the right wing and not a shell game of words.
Then there is the Teleprompter, It is getting old because it is so true and something I have been pointing out even when the done nothing guy was running. It is so bad the morning show did a interview with the telepromter and Joe jokes about breaking it.
But to those who worship the guy I guess that is hate speech against a guy who is addicted and is only using it to cover up his disability.
dtroutma said, 5 months ago
Considering Fox reporters reading teleprompters, along with all other network news, and of course even radio hosts, are lost without cue cards or prompters, and MOST CAN’T EVEN READ THOSE CORRECTLY, it IS their place to condemn the practice. They of course also have earbuds in the field with producers telling them every word to say.
Sure glad Reagan never used a script or notes.

Get over it. What do you expect? You want Obama to memorize every speech before he gives it? He has better things to do. And he IS doing better things.
ezdeb said, 5 months ago
To republicans: A teleprompter is a tool, just like a notepad. Name a president in the 19th or 20th or 21st century who didn’t bring notes. Please show me a speech that GWB made where he didn’t use a teleprompter. Can you? See, the amusing part, like dtroutma said, is that everyone in the media, anyone saying more than 2 sentences before a camera, will use notes. It’s not evil, and unless you can show me one speech that Shrubly made without (confusedly) using a teleprompter, bring it or shut up. To republicans, the EEEEEEEVIL ‘prompter is evil cus Obama uses it so it’s evil and he’s stupid and can’t talk and he’s stupid….not persuasive.

So much for the rant from the right about the Media giving Obama a break, this proves otherwise.

This cartoon is quite stupid.

From what I have read, there is no way to tally the actual jobs created which is the byword of this administration. Best editorial comment I have read is, in 2012, ask yourself, are you better off than you were four years ago? Voting will be based upon actual experience, not projections and promises. Politicians of every stripe have made those for decades.
In any event, all the back and forth tirades on the Net will accomplish little except to widen the divide between us. He’s in and it’s a Democratic congress. I don’t believe that Democrats are evil, misguided at times, yes. They are in and I have accepted that and nothing will change that fact for now. I suggest just tell him and your elected reps when you agree or disagree but TELL them and keep telling them. Talk to the people who have power to make changes. I do it regularly now and I think they know my name now also.
And remember, Obama by his own admission said if it ain’t better soon, he will be a one term President. Whatever else you think about the man, he is a realist. IMHO.

THIS IS NEWS! the last reporting by MSNBC were the white house talking points
Machado said, 5 months ago
As usual, many here are missing the point of the panel..
This toon is not about teleprompters, is about the lies they tell in the hands of the current administration….
DrCanuck said, 5 months ago
Much-ado, you’re pretty much alone in THAT interpretation. Take another look.
Machado said, 5 months ago
Really? Dr. Ca-Canuck? I’m afraid you’d lose a cartoon meaning debate against a cucumber…regardless of your PHD.
This is a brilliant panel, but brain dead lefties need not apply.
Here, take your choice of alternative interpretations, none of them in line with leftist’s here..
Who are you going to believe? , your lying eyes (unemployment lines) or the Teleprompter( current administration spin)
1—Reporters reasoning– –Why bother reporting this long unemployment lines , when the know-it-all, do-no-wrong administration says they are shrinking? (teleprompter) (check the news for reference)
2- alternative take fromOBAMABOT reporters view–
why should we expose to America long unemployment lines around the country, when the messiah wants us to report thru the teleprompter that the numbers are actually shrinking (and we the press love the messiah)
Captain Colorado here got it right the first time!!

churchillwasright said, 5 months ago
^ No, it turns out that Dr.Shamuk is some sort of professor, which explains his condescending attitude and that we won’t pass his “class” unless we all agree with the nonsense that he spews.
churchillwasright said, 5 months ago
As the owner of a teleprompting company for 10 years, I can tell you that all politicians, as well as all anchorpeople, use teleprompters. But I have never seen a President, or any other politician, so reliant on one. They have been used for the past 30 years for all MAJOR speeches, but Obama uses them for the most mundane of speeches, such as brief statements and introductions on the White House lawn. That is the difference.
One more thing. In my experience, the most brilliant speakers that I’ve prompted gave me a list of bullet-points to input, just to keep them on topic, and didn’t really need the prompter. I never had ANY politician use this method, at least not with me. I think this speaks more to politicians that anything else. (Although to be fair, if a politician misspeaks, it has greater ramifications than if a CEO or some type of inspirational speaker does).

Several years ago in a university in Iowa, a good conservative student informed me during my lecture that all knowledge was evil because it was knowledge that separated Adam from God. Therefore, he was constantly on his guard to make sure that he never learned anything.
Church’, was that YOU?
churchillwasright said, 5 months ago
DR.SHAMUCK: I’m sure you must have failed that student for refusing to regurgitate the “knowledge” that you were indoctrinating him with.
(And BTW, I thought of going back and correcting my grammer, but decided not to. This isn’t one of your exams).

DrCanuck said, 5 months ago
Hey, guess what, Church’. Your worst fears are true, There really IS a liberal plot to destroy America. And I’m in on it. The reason that we can tell you now is that there is no longer anything that you can DO about it. We have your children.
We have control of the schools and universities, where we brainwash your children daily with our liberal propaganda. Every day, I start off by having my students repeat, “It’s all America’s fault, there is no god, and women must be allowed to kill their babies.” Those that won’t repeat it are flunked and have to get unskilled labour jobs so only the liberal elite fill positions of power and influence.
We have your schools, we have the media, we have immigrants by promising them money we shall collect from rich conservatives. We are trying to get gays in the military so we can have control over the armed forces, We’ll be coming to get your guns and Bibles next week. And we’re funded by Russia and the UN’s new world order.
So just as you suspected, it’s all true. We are in control. And there’s nothing you can do about it but helplessly and powerlessly sputter on silly blogs such as this. Or go gun down some innocent museum guard.

Lord, if ANandy thinks Obama is stupid what does that make the likes of Sarah Palin??? And she’s the the great hope of the sinking GOP!
The GOP is lying that the media worships Obama… they started this during the election when Obama drew crowds and McCain didn’t, so blamed the media for his popularity and not his words.
DrCanuck said, 5 months ago
Read the above more carefully: “a university in IOWA…”
And as you are overlooking, it isn’t just me; ALL American schools are now in the hands of liberals.

Just keep your “hate America” thoughts off our turf. We’ll deal with BozOTUS locally.
WTF does that mean and who is we? Surely not the majority of the voting public that voted for Obama/Biden …. ?
and if, to use your words, 666 guy, Palin is ridiculed because she is the greatest menace they perceive to their fetish it explains quite well your constant ridicule of Obama … your fetish, whatever it is, is threatened.
DrCanuck said, 5 months ago
Church’: more than an element, me Bucko!
And Write Off, right now you have a choice: embrace socialism or watch your country go down the drain. It’s all over, you lost, go away now.
churchillwasright said, 5 months ago
OK I take it back. I just watched Obama finally make a statement without a teleprompter, He should go back to the teleprompter. He spent 4/12 minutes saying what could have been said in one. (I would have preferred a stronger statement in support of the Iranian people, something along the lines of Joe Lieberman, but that’s not my point here - http://tinyurl.com/ldb8wt - from huf-post of all places)

ANandy, please educate this Canadian as to why Americans keep electing idiots to office and then complaining that they’re idiots.
We elect intelligent and educated men and women who represent us and are answerable to us. Why don’t YOU try that?

Our election is a joke. It’s nothing more than American Idol.
