I haven’t used one in YEARS…… but I still have one under the counter just in case I want to … say … do a corned beef quickly.

A Barrett .50 caliber, MAC, Uzi, or other weapons are not pressure cookers. BTW, purchase of explosives DO require “registered purchasers”, even large quantities of “potential explosives”, like ammonium nitrate that cased the Texas explosion, also require “tracking”. Said "background checks’ HAVE been effective in reducing the “illicit” use of high explosives in the U.S., for decades. It was Tim McVeigh who led to the monitoring of “fertilizer”.

If I’m not wrong a lot of Hollywood celebs have “farms”, the reason being to get tax deductions and subsidies. They don’t grow anything, sell anything, it’s just for the accountants.

    -

If it’s this easy to set up a “farm”, why would it be hard to get the “fertilizer” for your “farm”? Plan ahead a few years and you can collect quite a bit of bang…

Someone needs to introduce Bok to Adam Orth and the subject of incredibly stupid metaphors.

They did not buy explosives; they searched the internet to obtain a recipe to build a pressure cooker bomb. They went to a Home Improvement Store and purchased the pressure cookers, nails and other implements of destruction, took them home, built the bombs and now we know the rest. So, are you saying we need a license to buy pressure cookers, nails, and screws? Are you saying there needs to be laws preventing the posting or recipes for making bombs and making meth?
How many nails is one allowed to buy under your rules to raise a red flag they this person might build a bomb?
How many Pressure Cookers should one be limited to before raising Red Flags this person might be building a bomb, one, two, three, four, where do you stop? After all, all it takes is one Pressure Cooker to kill several people.

So, before you buy nails, screws, or pressure cookers you must submit to a background check?

Tigger: do you really have to take a lot of time to formulate so much ignorance, or does it just flow from your “nether regions” unrestrained?

BTW, going back to the nut groups in Idaho, like the “Church Universal and Triumphant”, to the hundreds of “militia” groups formed since Obama was elected, lots of web sites, run by right-wing extremists, have posted such bomb-making, and attack formulating “manuals”.

McVeigh, among other “right wingers”, have done far more damage in the U.S. over time than any “lefties” like the idiots (granted) in ELF or PETA. Discounting 9/11/01 the attacks have also NOT been from “Muslim Extremists”, but rather, right-wing “nationalists”, like the attack on the Sikh temple, and crazies with an axe to grind like Columbine, the Colorado movie theater, or numerous school shootings that have occurred around the country, from young kids hiding on a hill shooting at their classmates, to the latest atrocity.

BTW, considering the lies that led to our invasion of Iraq, exactly where IS the line between homicidal crazies, and “preemptive attacks”?

    Are you nuts?

”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_foiled_Islamic_terrorist_plots_in_the_post-9/11_United_States">List of foiled Islamic terrorist plots in the post-9/11 United States

I count 29 attempts. This list does not include the Fort Hood shooting (a “workplace act of violence”) or the Boston Marathon.

BTW, will you be including Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn in your list of right-wing wackos when it suits you? Just curious.
