    Count me in! Call everyone’s friends, tell them to make a GoComics account,(if they have one, scratch that) and you could get 300 readers in no time :)

    This weekend I am sending out submissions to the few syndicates that are left. Hopefully one of the four might want me. If not, it may be time to try a new strip for a while. I am doodling like crazy trying to come up with a new strip. I have a few possibilities, but none are as good as Charmy’s Army.

    Thanks and I agree… The issue is space. There are no slots open for new strips. King Features told me last year that 10 years ago they would have grabbed this strip up but now they are not looking at new strips at all.
    .
    I am working out a new option in my head. Maybe I will launch something myself that will turn this industry around for us “new guys”.

    You found out from King Features exactly what I had been feeling for the last 6 months or so. Newspapers are dying fast and they are looking for things to cut, not add. It really makes me wish I was born maybe 30 years earlier…lol…because that way I could’ve still chased the dream of newspaper syndication while it was still viable.

    It really has nothing about the papers dying out as it just means the syndicates are full of talent. Why have 150 strips when papers only take an average of 30 Dailies and 12 Sundays. I am no where near as good as the cartoonists who are syndicated. The lessening number of papers probably does weigh in an this as well, but that’s okay… I have ideas formulating that will open up new opportunities for us hungry wanna-be’s!!!
