Hey,hey,hey NRA! How many children have you killed today?

Take away everyone’s guns. I don’t care. I’m not going to try to take them from anyone since they probably are loaded and people don’t believe that they should give them up. Let’s send libs out to collect them.

How many more murdered children are you willing to accept before you stop defending the status quo and insisting that nothing should be done?

Is this about abortion? I thought it was about gun control and honoring Hitler’s memory.

NO no no, I’m sure the Doc is thinking about Chicago and the 500+ murders committed there in 2012 by guns. Guns that by the way are restricted and under heavy regulation.
To legally possess firearms or ammunition, Illinois residents must have a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, issued by the state police. Non-residents who may legally possess firearms in their home state are exempt from this requirement. There is a waiting period to take possession after purchasing a firearm — 72 hours for a handgun, or 24 hours for a rifle or shotgun. Private sales are allowed, and are subject to these same requirements. Possession of automatic firearms, short-barreled shotguns, short-barreled rifles, or silencers is prohibited.
Cook County and the city of Chicago have separately banned the possession of “assault weapons”, and of magazines that can hold more than 10 or 12 rounds of ammunition respectively.
But hey, I’m sure you give it enough time the laws will eliminate all the violence and mayhem in the Windy City.

@Bruce4671
You make the argument for standardized nation wide regulations. As long as criminals can get weapons in other States, only law-abiding citizens will be effected by the law in Illinois and Chicago.

My point is that the current laws in effect have NOT reduced the kill rate by guns in Chicago. If you expand the laws to every state (and please look up the laws and see that the majority of states have similar laws) those that want to have a gun for nefarious purpose will still get them and use them. All you have done is make the rest of us less secure.
