    Considering how many people in war get gut-shot, it’s not uncommon to have to hold them in while trying to get to help.

    They’ve had decades of retelling the same story for the details to blur and certain aspects to get dropped. Sort of like a game of telephone except with only one person.

    A fellow I knew was a marine. He survived the first wave at Guadalcanal— and then got run over by a jeep three weeks later. messed him up badly.

    considering how many generalizations are true, the key is to have factual generalizations.
    .
    for example, the generalization that most Americans drive is true. The generalization that most Americans don’t know history well is true. etc. etc.
