    I’m not delusional, I know what the government is doing and I approve.

    Well, we have not had a truly major terrorist attack in this hated country since 2001, so somebody must be doing something right!!

    @Robert Landers

    Following that logic, the government must have really been doing something right, since the US went 226 years without a truly major terrorist attack. Maybe we should go back to that, since it worked well, and didn’t involve spying on everyone.

    @Gee Man

    Well, Robert Landers approves of voter ID laws? This country went hundreds of years without a need for them, then a black man is elected, I’m not that stupid of a cracker to not know racism when I see it.
    I agree with your comment Gee Man, except how do you define “terrorism”? We did have an attack on us called Pearl Harbor? Which BTW, we were fine before and AFTER that attack without needing some trumped up excuse to create this GIANT goverment agency that crushes our rights and privacy.

    And some of our citizens have murdered our own citizens in mass shootings that have more casualties then others who are deemed terrorists?

    Only ignorance leads to the belief ID laws are based on race.

    Under a totalitarian regime, any criticism of the government can be seen as a terrorist act. Does this seem familiar?

    Prof at TCU picture id not enough, expired driver’s license (expired because he’s 90 and doesn’t drive anymore) not enough, birth certificate not an allowable form of government ID: one 90-year-old from Ted Cruz’s part of Texas was denied a voting card. The old man? Jim Wright, former Speaker of the US House of Representatives. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/11/03/1252733/-90-Year-Old-Legendary-Speaker-of-the-House-Jim-Wright-Denied-Texas-Voter-ID-Card

    Two completely separate issues…

    No need to embellish the facts amary, it only degrades your point. The birth certificate was what Wright needed to get his ID to be able to vote, he got it, he’s registered.

    @rvernon

    I’m surprised you of all people would resort to a strawman argument rvernon. Perhaps you are unaware of the demographics of Texas? The people this law hits are not at all people that one could use for a race based argument. I’m all for equality and not at all sure I support the ID laws, but it certainly is NOT based on race no matter how much people want to paint it as that. The powers in DC paint that picture because they know that’s what resonates with voters and gets them riled up.. don’t fall into that trap.

    -
    Pearl Harbor was not a terrorist attack, intended to strike fear in the hearts of Americans. It was a military attack with military goals intended.to eliminate the naval capabilities of the United States after a declaration of War.
    It was quite effective although not effective enough to overcome the USA.

    Well, Jim Wright was a democrat.
    Too stupid to be allowed to vote.

    So, I’m assuming that the people who consider it a racist bother to produce a picture ID to vote, also do not buy cigarettes, alcohol, cash checks or use a credit card.
    Liberalism is a mental disorder.
