I’ve heard it said that the reason most marriages are doomed is because the man expects the woman will never change and the woman expects she’ll be able to change the man.

Sadly, I think Lemont will discover that Brian is right. As a recent former Dish customer, I discovered at the end of one year (and expiration of all special pricing) that Dish wanted more for TV that the Local cable company wanted for the same channels, phone & internet. Not slamming Dish, but couldn’t afford them after the special pricing expired. Went back to cable.

They don’t have cable in my area, I was forced to go to Direct TV, I am much happier with DTV then I was with cable even though I had to get DSL for my internet.

I agree with you and W Ash, I like DTV better than cable but my year of promotions ended recently and it is much more expensive than I expected. I’m about to suspend my service and stick with local and netflix for awhile.

We have cable modem service through a small local provider. Because it comes through cable lines, they claim they cannot NOT give us basic cable with our internet service. Yet somehow they manage charge less for the internet service (and cable) than the big corporate internet provider we switched from. So we consider the cable a free perk of using a local business. And their customer service is fabulous! Before when we just had internet we had hulu and Netflix streaming and that was enough for us.

To heck with cable TV. All you need is a good Internet connection and a decent computer hooked up to your bigscreen. Look around; there’s one heck of a lot of good, free TV out there, especially at outfits like PBS and Comedy Central.

What an amazing coincidence that the guy on the phone has the same first name as the CEO of Comcast.
