    NO cable, so I have none of them. Just channels I can get with an antenna on the roof.

    But in Los Angeles, it’s still a lot.

    I live in the SF Bay area – we have no cable and have over 60 on air channels- at least 20 HDTV channels and around 10 PBS channels. Who needs cable…. Either Hulu it or wait a year and watch the DVD from the library or netflix….

    However you get it, don’t miss “Game of Thrones”. Best TV series ever.

    Cable (or dish) is, indeed, a very expensive monkey on your back, but I keep it because I’ve gotten to the point where going to a movie theater no longer interests me.
    Every now and then, but I can’t do it on a regular basis. Too crowded, too noisy, and I can’t pause it when I have to run to the can.

    @Richard S. Russell

    I assume the “best ever” distinction is awarded on the basis of being the only TV series to put George W. Bush’s head on a pole…

    I get the point of it, loss of the commonality of TV. Sad but true. Still wouldn’t Lemont watch FX? Hm…

    I do the same. But I can get CBS. I’m surprised you can’t.

    Richard S Russell, I can’t get Game of Thrones, but I did see this in MoJo:

    Sadly where I live even the local channels are fuzzy without cable or satellite so everyone in my neighborhood has satellite.

    Remember when there were a handful of channels and everyone watched the same thing?

    Because they’re friends from way back . . . Lemont is nothing if not loyal.

    Huh? I do get CBS. And ABC, NBC, FoX, CW, several independent and PBS stations. Then there are the digital stuff. 5.2, etc. Gunsmoke, a lot of the old shows. The digital switchover was something the Feds actually got right.

    I get way more channels than I could possibly ever watch. I watch a couple shows on Fox and a few on NBC, and everything else I get from Netflix.
