    Today’s Random Thoughts

What Calvin described eerily sounds a lot like retirement.

Calvin is moody. He went from full of joy, to sourpuss in two panels.

Doing nothing all day gets pretty old real fast. And, daytime TV will rot your brains.

Hahaha, Calvin. My summer days were spent working in the garden, helping can the food we picked, and doing housework. We once accused my parents of having kids to do the work around the place. This was never denied.

Retire as early as you can! Nobody ever said on their death bed, “If only I had worked more and made more money!”

That’s the way it is for me now. I will never have to work again. Being old is a wonderful thing.

Every M-F morning I see the traffic report on the local news at 6. And each time I am so thankful I don’t have to be stuck in the middle of Atlanta commuter traffic anymore. It would take me 40 minutes to travel 15 miles each way to and from work.

Frustratingly, it wasn’t until my last year working that I was allowed to work from home.

Retired due to poor kidney function and diabetes. Good thing I keep myself busy every day.

Hobbes fails to realize that he will cease to exist the moment Calvin loses the innocence of youth. So, he really doesn’t have a life of leisure in his future.
