   Yes you dont wnat to be in the stomach when the chemical reactions occur. Belches happen when you eat too fast or it produces gases from digestion. Farts and belches.

    My dad had a disgusting habit — passing gas at the dinner table. He’d raise up on one haunch, grunt softly and pooooooo. I’d say, “Daaaaad!” and he’d say, “Son, I just couldn’t help it.”

    I was on the ward dealing with a patient who had a bad bedsore that needed packing. I was about nose level with his bum and he let off a real ripper of a fart. I though, " there’s gratitude for you".
