Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Calvin, it would big tremendous fun to float outside.

Mom caught him bouncing off the walls - right off the bat.

Marg, be careful what you suggest. Last time he floated outside we had that huge balloon adventure. Remember how nerve wracking we all found that.

Yukoner, I do indeed. This time he has no balloon, so tree top high is all he can attain.

If you think this is bad, wait ‘till Calvin finds girls….
sjoujke said, about 1 month ago
….actually he’ll probably come down to earth with a thud when he finds girls, especially when he finds out they’re all like Susie.

Floating outside is never safe, at least not for Calvin… Last time he left Hobbes behind, not a good thing at all!

I know what Mom is up to. She pushes Calvin outside to float and he does. He floats into oblivion and is never seen again. Mom and Dad come off their Prozac and have a good life. Oh what a wicked plan … I love it.

How many bowls of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs does it take to defy gravity?

Mom’s right. Let him expend that excess energy outside before he breaks something.

Inside, outside—Calvin finds trouble wherever he goes.
Even on other planets come to think of it.

Back in college, we found a cabinet knob inexplicably screwed to the wall of our dorm room. I attached a little pointer to it, labeled it “GRAV-O-STAT” and indicated settings for HIGH and LOW.
It seemed like every morning when we woke up, someone would have turned the gravity up to HIGH. We would crawl to the GRAV-O-STAT and turn the gravity back down but then it always took a while for the gravity to return to reasonable levels.
Ahhh, college… ;-)

Is it safe to let Calvin outside? They need a fenced yard!

Anybody got any Valium for the little bouncer?
Fenced yard? He needs a house and yard INSIDE of a warehouse with a reinforced roof!

It’s been about a year since my granddaughter thought she could fly and I’d try to catch her but a few times she’d hit the floor. She’d cry for awhile and seems like she’d forget after awhile and splat face down on the rug. Now she’s into bouncing and gets so excited when she bounces off the bed, chair, and couch onto the floor. Scares the bleeep out of grandma but she just laughs it off! I think she’s got a future career in Hollywood!

Dino-1 and Yukoner- yes they are, but mine is 5’2” tall now, and I can’t catch him anymore.
The last time his Mom tried to save him from slipping off a slick rock at negative low tide he pulled them both onto the rocks. Grandma nearly had a heart attack!

“Puddleglum: Let me get this straight. You think Calvin should be rewarded for threatening a terrorist act? It doesn’t matter that the dynamite wasn’t real, he was serious about using threats to get a cookie. Mom shouldn’t have scolded him for wasting food. She should have punished him and redirected his attitude.”
Judging from Calvin’s facial expressions in the first two panels, I don’t think he was threatening a terrorist act. I also think punishment would have made him more vindictive than he already is. I doubt that Calvin is really serious even in the last panel. Can anyone redirect Calvin’s attitude, anyway? Certainly his parents can’t.
If my grandson had done what Calvin did, I would have laughed, commended his ingenuity and given him a cookie. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.
