Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Hmm, bees generally target furry objects which they see as a threat. Wonder why it didn’t land on Hobbes?
kpeiyin said, 4 months ago
How could you, Hobbes??? But, hmmm, enjoy reading!
Ladywolf17 said, 4 months ago
Calvin’s shirt is red and black like a bulls-eye Jor-El maybe that is the answer or maybe Hobbes is playing a prank on Calvin.

What’s Hobbes worried about? For that matter, what’s Pooh worried about? They’re both stuffed with fluff; bee stings can’t affect them.

Is there a bee there?

Reminds me of an Old Joke I used to play - works especially well at outdoor ball games.
Start out by having someone guess the letter bee-ing drawn on their back with a finger. Doesn’t matter which letter - draw several of them.
Then when U draw out the letter “B” & they guess correctly,.. give them a friendly Slap on the Back - Yelling BEE!
U’d think I did this as a kid - did it as an adult to kids. Doesn’t work so well on adults - they probably did it as kids themselves.
Enjoy Life! - Play Ball If U Can = instead of Sitting In The Bleachers

or maybe she read it in a book? this isn’t the only place C&H has ever been. why do some people persist in being suspicious of the “wolf family” anyway? i prefer to accept all comments at face value and ignore the ones i don’t feel like reading, and i don’t understand why that is so hard for some others to do.
Rmom said, 4 months ago
yyyguy - I was also thinking she might have read it in a book. There are several C & H books still in print.

Can’t help wondering: Reading a comic book doesn’t damage it in any way; in fact, coming along later you couldn’t even tell someone else had been reading the comic book earlier. So why does Calvin fret?
mjw22307 said, 4 months ago
Calvin frets because he can’t be there to keep an eye on Hobbes and make sure he takes good care of his comics… you know because of the apparent bee on his back. Either that or he’s just stingy.
All I know for sure is that Hobbes is a riot lol
Wildmustang1262 said, 4 months ago
Hobbes gives Calvin another terrible trick! Hobbes can read Calvin’s comic again! LOLs!
stupendousman6 said, 4 months ago
I’m kind of stupid with bees. I try to smack them and irritate them. Then again, Ive never been stung. Maybe my method works

Silly JonD17 my dad has a few Calvin and Hobbes books. I used to read them when ever I could that is why I remember this one.

“Friday the 13th on a (insert another day of the week here) ” is as old as the Pogo comic strip.
Since Hobbes being alive is only in the wild imagination of Calvin, there wouldn’t even be a bee on his back anyway.
Calvin’s wild imagination gets him into trouble most of the time. But, as we saw yesterday with him imagining himself to be a fly at a picnic and using scientific and educated words, he should be a straight A student in school.

My new avatar has released me from the bee-beard jokes, apparently not a moment too soon!
Calvin must live in Utah.
Spcemanspiff said, 4 months ago
Hm, this reminds me of the strip where calvin and hobbes were playing hide and seek and hobbes ditched calvin to read his comic books.Classic.

Spcemanspiff said, 4 months ago
Calvin also said Hobbes bends back the spine.
