As ladywolf17, my daughter says I’m busy working on the new house getting it ready to be moved into so I won’t have time much to post. Please be respectfull to ladywolf17 as she will be taking over the computer for awhile. get to know her and introduce her to the wonderfull world of comics. Let her know that you care as I care for each and eveyone of you. Thank you and may your days be filled with happiness and sunshine.

that’s what happens, Calvin- you start doing more and more stupid stuff and less and less of the great exploring and discovering stuff…
Leonardeuler said, 5 months ago
Don’t complain too much Cal. There’s sure a lot of time to play Calvinball, to do funny things with a water balloon or the transmogrifier or the toboggan or ………….
Nice to hear from you ladywolf.

Calvin, avoid school at all costs. The prime reason for school is to destroy imagination and initiative and replace them with bland conformity. Is it any wonder that Dickens namned his teacher Mr McChokemchild?

Well, Calvin, you still got Children’s Day!
Happy Children’s Day!

That amazing digital art is created by high school kids. The Mac Lab’s story may be found within these daily posts: http://maclab.guhsd.net/blog/
School can be cool.

If calvin is lucky he will find a vocation which allows him to do what he really loves. Perhaps he will invent a real transmogrifier, or be the one who finds way to transoport people ala Star Trek. Or peraps he will be the one to become a space explorer like Spaceman Spiff. There is so much that Calvin can become if he can make school and dreams work together.

Well Calvin, I’ve spent those 11 years of school, then had 4 years at uni, followed by full time work, now back at uni for another 4 years!
Perhaps I love being a nerd, but I still have time for comics though!
Hello Ladywolf 17.

Welcome to the fun & excitement that is GoComics. I think you’ll enjoy the various characters you’ll run into both in the strips and in the posts. Generally, we’re a safe bunch! Just don’t give out personal information about yourself here or anywhere on this thing we call
the internet!

if y’all want to talk…so somewhere else….if you want to discuss the comic…OK.
jelzap said, 5 months ago
how about when he is retired…too busy being grumpy, perhaps?
prasrinivara said, 5 months ago
Solution: Calvin make the above pitch to dad; dad will then take away Calvin’s moron-box privileges and Calvin will have plenty of playing time (some of the erstwhile moron-box allocated time).
jackofstories said, 5 months ago
I don’t think Calvin has to worry about college or graduate school. Plus, weekend television is WAY less interesting as an adult (unless you’re a sports fan).

WWSMSD? (what would space man spiff do?)

When you have to work, you wish you din’t have to. When you can no longer work or get laid off, you wish you could work. Never satisfied.

When you get home from school and Hobbes gets you coming thru the door you’ll forget all about this ugly thought.
Welcome ladywolf17.
Enjoy the comics, talk away if you wish and by all means enjoy yourself.

With his imagination Calvin should be a writer of some kind, space novels or comics. He could actually enjoy his work.

yes I agree with you but last year I started studying in Syria and its toooooo diffrent like they cant watch what i watched or what i read from my country so we dont have anything in common and nothing to talk about
Wiseguy411 said, 5 months ago
As Shakespeare said “If all the year were playing holidays, to sport would be as tedious as to work.”
Calvin you will learn soon enough that all that playing has life application.
And if you learn your playing lessons well enough, work will not be dreary at all.

Can we get a do over in life and be a kid again? Being a kid is great.
primacyofreason said, 5 months ago
Oddly enough, as I was reading this my own seven-year-old son, whose name is Calvin, came downstairs and made the same complaint–too much school and not enough time to play. Luckily though, he’s not a TV junkie and gets in plenty of adventure during his off hours.
Calvin, follow in Mark Twain’s footsteps. Never let schooling get in the way of your education.

Bravo, I forgot about that one.
And never let education be confused with intelligence

Cheer up, Calvin. You can go back to reading comics and getting into mischief in another 60 years.

Wow, Calvin, you sure are getting ahead of yourself! You’re assuming you’re going to college and grad school but you have to graduate elementary and high school first! Poor Susie has been “carrying you” in your studies lately but she’s onto you and that’s not going to last forever. When that happens and you have to do it on your own, then what will you do?!?!?!?!?
grammahotsho said, 5 months ago
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if schools looked at each child’s natural gifts and assisted them in developing them? Cookie cutter education is crummy.

But if Calvin had more free time, what about Hobbes’ “me time”. Reading comics between naps takes a great deal of time.

Welcome all newbies (including me)!
Calvin can’t help but bring his huge imagination to school and everywhere else he goes. But if he can put exploring and discovering into his school work, he’d be richer than that guy who invented Microsoft, and more famous, too!
