Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Good old Hobbes, sacrificing his comfort for Calvin.
pouncingtiger said, 9 months ago
Good thing that the comic strip ended when it did. I predict Calvin cursing his mouth off at Hobbes in the next panel.

I would like some hot chocolate right now, too.

Hobbes best not get any hot chocolate on Calvin’s comic books.

Hobbs going to the bus stop without his scarf - he risks being propped up in bed with a cold.
opuscroakus70 said, 9 months ago
No scarf needed when you have a big fur coat. And doesn’t Calvin’s school have snow days, since there appears to be a full-out blizzard going on?

“As soon as I graduate…”. Calvin the optomist.

Hobbes ist not a little bit of egoist!

Hobbes figures there’s no sense both of them should suffer.

Tough it out Calvin! This is something you can tell your children about.
mplsstreetrwy said, 9 months ago
But what would be the point of having hot chocolate without Calvin? To paraphrase Charlie Brown: when you’re really lonely the marshmallows stick to the roof of your mouth!

I went for a walk into the woods today and it was such a cold, icy and stormy day.

Calvin’s right, that’s how one should spend days like this. Hmm. Maybe when I retire I can do that?
hungrybear said, 9 months ago
I can see several advantages to a fur coat.
Silverpearl said, 9 months ago
Sorry fellahs, when you retire you have to get up and go visit the doctor!!

LX, I love winter walks in the woods, in story weather or good.

Calvin’s forgetting that after he graduates he will have to go to work. If he isn’t freezing at a bus stop waiting for the bus he may have a car of his own which he has to scrape the snow off of before he can leave, and he has to warm up the car. On the other hand he may just move to Florida.

I think the blizzard, like so much else in C&H, is primarily in Calvin’s mind.
Yes, just like when I used to walk three miles to school (No buses, you know, back in the Middle Ages). Through the snowdrifts. Uphill. Both ways.

It’s worse in Florida. A hurricane comes and you’re stuck inside a hot, smelly home and the boredom is killing your brain cells and your pets get blown away and there’s nothing on tv but news and when its over and you go outside you have someone else’s lawn furniture in your yard and a nice, blue tarp on your roof. Snow is better.

Of course! That’s the song of the Elder complaint-telling songbird. Traditional in most places.

it was sweet of her, i run around and take care of things for her when she is out, so she was just paying me back, not that i ask her to do so. we never have presidents day off. we get out for MLK and fat Tuesday, Easter/spring break/Christmas/new years/ and i think one more thing but that is it. i dont know why we never get off for this. strange.

I agree with Calvin, nobody likes snow at 7:30 in the morning, especially when the alternative is a warm bed, and a nice cup of cocoa.

~ actually not just people who live in New Orleans get mardi gras off. I believe most catholic schools have it off. I go to a private catholic church and we always get it off. I live in florida!
