June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

They’re still whipped, not a man among them.

And the kid, who is capable of such heroism, stands by passively?
Bring on the elephants. Let’s get the ludicrous story over with.

I wonder if they’ll pull straws to see who gets to survive the not-so-baby-Elephant Walk.

“Ditto?” Did he just say “Ditto?” Good grief!
She has straws in her hand, no weapon in sight! The sad thing is we aren’t going to see a catfight between Brenda and Caressa … let’s get those elephants moving!

Hey, where’d she get straws?

Well, she HAS been drinking a lot…

From the bar. She has to have something to stir her gin and tonic. In the last panel It looks like she isn’t going to be the one to do it as she told Ganesh he was the lucky one even when he hadn’t drawn one.

I say Carissa gets stomped on by a rampaging elephant in color on Sunday. That way no one is guilty.

What the heck is Salman doing out there, starting a Homecoming Day bonfire? How long does it take (even in comic strip days) to get from outside the window with a torch into the house?

Who is plotting and writing this ?? A six year old kid??
Susan001 said, about 8 hours ago
woodworker318, Ganesh also said no.
Looks like the witch gets to bump off Brenda herself.
Which is what she REALLY wants.

Glad to see Ganesh finally found some intestinal fortitude, although his “no” isn’t very vehement.
Why be offended by Raj and Taj’s “ditto?” My husband is an idential twin. He and his brother DO think alike. It is his background, which single siblings don’t understand.

Coressa is holding all the straws, so she gets the job. How does she plan to do it ? Corinna prevented her once. No doubt she will do it again. And Ganesh sits there like a whipped puppy. Like Ahab when Jezebel wanted Naboth killed. I can’t believe this guy. By this time, though, if Corinna is what I think she is, she should have lost all total respect for her mother.
This is a complex story. It is so full of twists and turns. Even if it is crazy, you still can’t leave it alone. Just like Salmon, alias Tiger. I now think negative of him again when I remember some things before. I can’t believe that Salmon ever liked Brenda and ever will. Salmon is for Salmon and nobody gets in his way. That is why I don’t believe Brenda is underestimating him like she now thinks. Pug had to be ruffed up and drugged and taken to this Island by somebody. And Coressa didn’t do it or Ganesh. It had to be Salmon and this guy who works for Taj. It was Taj’s boat that took her there, and it was Taj’s boat keeper who did it, who was secretly working with Salmon.
Tiger is the killer who is doing Ganesh’s dirty work. And Coressa just doesn’t know it. It is Taj and Raj who are now reconciled with each other, who are now trully Brenda’s friends. If these two guys don’t prove it , then I guess I am lost in space, and don’t where I am with this stupid cartoon.

Caressa’s straws are those little hollow plastic things are used to strir cocktails.
Did Carina get to draw a straw, too? She’s not standing with Brenda.
I can imagine that on Sunday, the mansion and/or the vegetation on the grounds will be ablaze. The shrubery there might burn like the brush does in wild fires in Southern California during the dry season.
The elephants on the grounds have been eating brown straw for a while now.

It has been proven that identical twins who are separated at birth and grew up in different states and reunited long after they became adults do think very much alike.
Identical twins don’t have to grow up together to think alike.
Some folks thought my older brother, Lewis, and our 1st cousin, Edwin, were almost identical twins. While they didn’t look exactly alike in their faces, they were built just alike, they were the same height and even talked alike.
Edwin was born 6 months before Lewis.
I might add, except for their faces, they were definitely very close to being identical from the chin down to their feet when not wearing clothing. I know that because we went skinny-dippin’ together plenty of times growing up.

I can’t speak for Paypabak, but I was surprised at the word simply because it’s such an informal word and this is a life-and-death situation. Would you say, “Ditto,” after the Gettysburg address or after hearing “Amazing Grace”?

Wait, just wait a minute here. “Brenda just saved my life,” ??!!?
How was that? By preventing Caressa from shooting him? But Caressa could easily have shot him after disarming Brenda. She either (a) never intended to shoot him or (b) intends to shoot him after he kills Brenda and be a hero. He should be smart enough to figure that out.
I’ve said this a hundred times now: This is Dick Tracy with good art.

Brenda saved him from the tiger, not Caressa.
Joe Allen Doty said, about 2 hours ago
Caressa shot Ganesh from behind to get him out of the way.
But, after Brenda bandaged up Ganesh, she helped Ganesh get back on the elephant which he was riding.
Brenda saved both Raj and Taj from the tiger because she shot it.
