For many years, the Pennsylvania Lottery used an automatronic groundhog named Gus as their spokes-groundhog for the scratch-off tickets.
Gus was billed as “the second-most-famous groundhog in Pennsylvania” (after Punxsutawney Phil), but was axed when serious inquiries were starting to be made as to whether he had actually passed Phil in fame!

…my cat loves to chase those crumpled up loser lottery tickets around the room…whatever kind of paper it is, the cat really likes to bat and gnaw them…so those tickets actually do have a purpose

My cat loves the zip strip from the top of the milk carton, batting them around the kitchen nearly all day. We had to move the refrigerator for heavy duty spring cleaning and found at least nine of them underneath. She was in cat heaven with so many rediscovered toys.
